Aw, look at all the people posting. Hello again! No idea if I’ll actually start posting here again more than once or twice a year, but it’d be nice if fandom exodus’d back this way.

(Egad, I never even posted links to my Yuletide fic or gift last year. I’ve been even scarcer than I thought.)

But oh, for the ease of image hosting at tumblr. :( I don’t suppose that’s ever really coming to the AO3, huh.

Dreamwidth's one major shortcoming really is the image hosting thing, isn't it?

Which is a shame, because the fandom atmosphere over here is actually kind of nice/friendly.

I think things have gotten better! I've tried to make an icon post since posting my last comment and Dreamwidth's image hosting situation isn't actually as bad as I'd remembered - I've already got a google account that I use for fannish stuff so it's just a case of putting anything I want to post into a shareable folder, and voila!

(That being said, I can't imagine trying to run a business through LJ/Dreamwidth - that would be nightmarish...)

It's neat having you here, too! I much prefer this style of blogging, if I'm totally honest. Even when I was having a relatively good time on Tumblr I missed the friend-lock option...

I kind of did? I mostly lurked - I didn't become actively involved in fandom until like ... 2013? ish? ... when I started making Dragon Age fanart. I had a personal journal that I kept between about 2008 and 2012. My main engagement on Livejournal was with the Harry Potter fandom (and, to my discredit, Inglourious Basterds...)

We should IM about this at some point - I actually don't know a whole lot about your fannish history, either!

That's totally fair. :') Basterds fandom was a mess of snobbery, uncomfortable fetishes and cultural insensitivity. (It was a Tarantino fandom, so like......) It's one of those few special interests that I'm actively embarrassed by in retrospect (I was only ever really in it for this one actress and the badfic, but still.)

Yeah, no, I had no idea what Strikethrough was until I googled it. That sounds like an all-to-familiar nightmare...
