Story-wise, the 90s anime is my favorite version, but I also enjoy the manga/Crystal and am happy with a blend. Feel free to use whatever combination suits your fancy. Visually, please don’t feel as though you need to try and imitate any of the canon art styles; I enjoy that--and playing with the 90s fashion, or Takeuchi’s fashion designs for the characters, is certainly welcome--but I also particularly enjoy seeing the characters translated into a fanartist’s own style.

Fandom-specific DNW: any reference to Inner Senshi/Shittenou pairings. (Serenity/Endymion is fine, though obviously it’s not something I’m looking for as a focus.)

Silver Millennium:

So I’m always really curious about the Silver Millenium, which we never really get more than little glimpses of in any version of the canon. I’d love a look at life for our heroes before Beryl and the Dark Kingdom attacked. Preferably something that isn’t too idyllic (though I am 1000% here for beautiful Palace/garden settings); it’d be nice to recognize the characters’ “present-day” personalities in their former selves, although also to see how being celestial princesses/guardians on the Moon might make a difference?

Prompts:

What sort of entertainment did Princess Serenity and her fellows/guardians get up to on the Moon, assuming there was no Game Center Crown equivalent? What kind of rivalries/arguments might have ensued?

Tell me a story about how the girls (let’s be real: probably Serenity and Venus in particular) got themselves into some kind of ridiculous, humorous scrape (probably rather unbecoming of celestial princesses), and how they got back out of it again!

The Guardians of the Outer Solar System, rarely seen on the Moon, visit for a banquet or a ball or a military strategy meeting or some such thing. Princess Serenity is FASCINATED by these extremely cool older girls. Antics and hero worship (and probably flirting) ensue.

The Guardians of the Outer Solar System visit the Moon and are clearly in the process of falling in love with each other (which must be somewhat difficult, given how long-distance they are most of the time), much to Princess Serenity’s fascination.


Kaiou Michiru/Meiou Setsuna/Tenoh Haruka & Tomoe Hotaru

I have an enormous soft spot for the whole 'Outer Senshi family' dynamic, and would love a sweet, domestic, or silly comic about Hotaru's three mothers navigating their relationship and learning how to parent a magical, fast-developing baby soldier of destruction. (Or teenaged soldier of destruction, for that matter!)

I could imagine and would be open to any number of relationship configurations between the three; I certainly see Michiru and Haruka as being romantic and sexual partners, but how Setsuna is included in that is up to you! (Her relationship to one or both of them could be sexual, romantic, both, or neither; as long as all three have a strong emotional connection and partnership!)

Prompts:

What kind of elaborate bedtime routine does little Hotaru demand from her moms? How thoroughly does she have each of them wrapped around her finger, in spite of attempts at discipline and firmness?

Haruka, Michiru and Setsuna have a (bedtime?) storytelling competition, with Hotaru as audience and judge.

Two of the older senshi are out of the house for one reason or another, leaving the third home with Hotaru. A crisis develops (a loose/lost tooth? being asked where babies come from? weird Saturn vision/power manifestation?) that this hapless third parent struggles to cope with, while the other two are off obliviously enjoying themselves and/or taking care of business, perhaps with fond thoughts of what their daughter and partner might be up to at the same time.

Fandom-specific DNW: Camilla/Palamedes as anything more than devoted, platonic partners and cousins.

Gideon Nav & Harrowhark Nonagesimus & Palamedes Sextus & Camilla Hect

These four teaming up in Gideon the Ninth brought me a lot of joy; I loved the different dynamics. Most obviously, of course, there’s Gideon & Harrow with their complicated past, the way they’re learning to trust and rely on each other, their ridiculous banter, and so on. Cam and Gideon share mutual respect and a certain amount of exasperation/snark (respectively); Gideon and Palamedes like each other but have an awkward, unintentional potential romantic rivalry over “Dulcinea;” Harrow and Palamedes and their strange, competitive necromancer friendship; and of course, there’s Cam and Palamedes' deep mutual devotion and complete trust.

I absolutely ship Gideon/Harrow like burning and would welcome elements of that if you feel so moved!

Prompts:

Missing scenes/background story during GtN; especially if you can find a way to tie it together with a theme like “necro/cav bonds” or “necro/necro friendship/rivalry vs. cav/cav friendship/rivalry and how differently those express themselves.”

Gideon and Palamedes somehow get to talking about comics or … other reading materials, much to … reactions on the part of their House partners.

Cam and Gideon spar; Palamedes cheers; Harrow is less … demonstrative, but definitely invested in her cav’s performance. (Perhaps Palamedes and Cam share wryly amused commentary about the tension between the other pair after? Maybe Harrow grumbles about the Sixth’s bond?)

During some kind of Canaan House downtime (probably forced; maybe the weather does a thing), the four play some kind of Nine Houses board game, possibly while drinking. Hilarity and revealing personal information ensue.

Pick a character and do a study about them via interactions with the other three (during GtN)

Alternate take on Chapter 33 of HtN: Gideon manifests "physically" in Palamedes' bubble, but Harrow can't see or hear her (and maybe can't be told about her either?). Chaos of one sort or another ensues. And when Harrow "wakes up" with Cam again, maybe Palamedes communicates with her to tell her about it? (While Harrow is still there?)


Palamedes Sextus & Camilla Hect & Dulcinea Septimus

I love the Sixth House, with their dedication to knowledge, history and investigation. I love Palamedes & Cam’s bond, and banter. And I adore Dulcinea Septimus, as we met her (posthumously) in HtN, so much, with her apparent sweetness and her edges and irreverence.

I don’t have terribly varied ideas for what I’d like out of these three, I just … want to see something of their lives, relationships and interactions before the Canaan House summons.

So some kind-of-prompts:

Just … some good old fashioned epistolary fic. Show me Palamedes and Dulcinea getting to know each other through their letters. Does Camilla correspond with Dulcie as well? What does that look like?

Palamedes and Camilla wind up needing Dulcie’s long-distance assistance with a case, problem, research question, etc! A sort of epistolary/caperfic mashup!

Dulcinea’s perspective on her relationship with the Sixth pair; a glimpse of her life in the Seventh House and the outlet her far-away friends provide.


Magnus Quinn/Abigail Pent & Jeannemary Chatur & Isaac Tettares

The pseudo-parental relationship Abigail & Magnus had with the 4th teens in GtN was an endless source of delight to me (especially each and every time Magnus embarrassed Jeannemary), and I just shamelessly want MORE of that. I’m mostly imagining pre-canon stories, here, though you could find a way to work in something at Canaan House or in the River, perhaps.

Prompts:

Abigail and Magnus attend some kind of ceremony or event in Isaac and/or Jeannemary's honor (achievement of a military rank/level of swordswomanship? a coming of age event/birthday party? some kind of necromancer graduation?) and just embarrass the hell out of them. With love.

Younger Abigail and Magnus look after Isaac and Jeannemary at some kind of House leadership event where the little 4th tots are in danger of getting underfoot.

Jeannemary has some agonizing adolescent experience, probably a first crush or something. Magnus and Isaac try to be helpful, supportive, and/or give advice, and are both disastrous at it. Abigail is actually helpful.

One of my long-standing favorite fairy tales, and one of the ones I find most frustrating. Quite apart from the occasionally unbearably sugary Christian moralizing, there’s the utter rambling mess of the storyline! And the fact that we barely get to know anything about the titular antagonist, of course; she doesn’t even rate a final confrontation. Who is she, anyway? How does she come to rule, and why does she know neither rest nor peace?

Fandom-specific DNWs: Gerda/Kay romance, sexual or explicitly romantic contact between Gerda and the Snow Queen while Gerda is younger than sixteen years old, canon-typical Christian themes/moralizing.

Prompts:

What if Gerda, and not Kay, had gone with the Snow Queen? How might that play out differently? (This question could be combined with either of the next two ideas …)

The Snow Queen’s kisses render Kay unable to feel the cold, but would kill him if he received more than two … while, in the story’s climax, Gerda’s kisses bring the bloom back to his cheeks and the shine back to his eyes. How would the Snow Queen fare against kisses that warm and thaw? (Is she actually made of ice, and would they be her doom? Or … something else?)

The original story sees Gerda as powerful because she’s innocent and pure, but I’ve always loved how determined and intrepid she is. I’d enjoy a reworking of the climactic scene where she matches wits with the Snow Queen more directly, whether it’s to rescue her honorary brother, or on her own/some other account.

One of baby’s first fandoms. David Bowie in glitter was initially the major attraction, but I was always all about it ultimately being Sarah’s story, and that’s still the angle I’m most interested in.

General thematic areas that interest me (so much!) for Labyrinth include … post-canon stories in general, stories that play with the ways in which the Labyrinth and its denizens could be seen as reflecting Sarah back to herself in some way (as demonstrated by her corresponding toys, etc, among other things) and how that might change/evolve (especially wrt Jareth himself), playing with and subverting fairy tale tropes in general. Sarah ultimately getting the better of Jareth (up to and including turning tables and topping the fuck out of him) is also appealing to me, as is a romance between them that is somewhat less than earnest, sincere or peaceful.

Fandom-specific DNWs: Jareth/Toby Williams, Jareth gaining and keeping the upper hand against Sarah, focus on Jareth’s backstory. (I love mercurial, bored, petulant Goblin King Jareth and the contrast between him and his subjects, the tension between him and Sarah and the (not always appealing) ways in which he is related to her fantasies, and such.)

Prompts:

As an adult, Sarah finds herself back in the Labyrinth through her own actions (intentional or otherwise). Maybe she makes another reckless wish, or maybe she stumbles through a doorway summoned by some need or desire in her life. (Preferably not the need for a romantic partner, ahem, regardless of whether romance does ensue.) The Labyrinth she finds herself in, while still recognizable (probably similarly quirky/ramshackle), is also different--much as she is different. But it’s still a maze, and something she needs or wants can only be achieved by solving it.

The Labyrinth and/or Jareth are in trouble and summon/kidnap her, the former child-hero, for assistance. Sarah’s in college or all grown up at this point; maybe she remembers/believes in her previous visit, or maybe she doesn’t, but either way this sure isn’t something she asked for!

Adult Sarah doesn’t remember her journey to the Labyrinth, or doesn’t really, but as an adult creative of some kind (artist? writer?), she is unknowingly recreating/reflecting parts of it, and the worlds begin to bleed together in some way. I am all for this being a bit creepy, and perhaps a bit sexy (when it comes to Jareth).

I can't quite remember where I first got the idea, but for a few years now I have been enjoying the notion that Bertie Wooster and Phryne Fisher are cousins, and dreaming of a story in which the Miss Fisher characters descend on the elegantly goofy lives of the Jeeves & Wooster cast and wreak entertaining havoc. Whether this havoc takes the form of solving mysterious and often scandalous murders, or causing social scandals and engagement-related messes ... yes? Any? I so rarely go for crossovers, but any of this? I want it with all my soul.

I wound up being a little random with my nominations, so to be clear: I'm most interested in a story centering Bertie, Jeeves and Phryne (but everyone/anyone else can come too, especially Mac, who I adore) and set in England. I absolutely ship Bertie with Jeeves, and I ship Phryne with Jack and/or Mac (not necessarily exclusively); also, I am absolutely open to gen fic.

Prompt(s):

Bertie's scandalous cousin Phryne comes to England for a visit ... and Jeeves is thoroughly unimpressed by the havoc she wreaks on the young master's orderly life, but eventually they come to some kind of accord, and she and Jeeves team up to help Bertie out of a scrape involving an aunt, an engagement, etc, and/or a murder among his social circle!

Doctor Elizabeth MacMillan, Phryne's traveling companion in England, has published a pamphlet that impressed Jeeves, or exhibits better dress sense than Bertie, causing friction, or Bertie's latest fiancee leaves him for her, or she and Jeeves somehow discover that they are both part of the same ... discreet social circles ... or some combination of these!

Phryne and Jeeves team up to unmask a murderer (or a newt/cow creamer/French chef thief?) and use Bertie as bait in some way. Hilarity ensues!
