what could you do in the situation?
Well, I aten’t dead. Though I have to look at my previous entry, re: "life has been a lot lately," with indulgent wryness, in the circumstances.
I’ve been thoroughly wiped out this long weekend; a combination of (my first) three days’ commuting to and from campus by bike, adjusting to being back on campus at all (with many changes), and a lot of roommate drama (which is thankfully now less drama than "it is sad you’re leaving but this is probably for the best, timing aside").
I also just learned that my shampoo/conditioner of choice for 5+ years has been discontinued, and I’m too late to buy any more for stockpile. That’s just mean-spirited and petty, universe.
But! I’m finding significant consolation in the advent of fandom exchange season (well, the season in which I participate, anyway). A beloved social and creative endeavor that shouldn’t be affected, much, by this goddamn pandemic.
femslashex just opened up for nominations; I’m excited to draw gals being pals! And I have so many possible ideas for Yuletide. A big, in-depth writing project with a nice base of canon material to build on/research and the motivation of a deadline to make/recipient to please sounds absolutely perfect to me right now.
I watched most of Person of Interest, all of The Expanse, the Netflix Babysitter’s Club adaptation, and Shoujo Kakumei Utena, the final season of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, and of course The Old Guard during quarantine, and I’m already rereading Harrow the Ninth. My body is ready for a femslash exchange. (Maybe yours is too? :D?)
I’m in touch with most of you elsewhere, but - much love, fandom folks. I hope you’re as well as you possibly can be right now.

Having your favourite shampoo be discontinued this year just feels like adding insult to injury, wow. That's just MEAN, universe.
