make the yuletide gay

Merry Christmas, everyone! (Well, everyone who celebrates it.) Also belated happy Hannukah and Solstice, and general happy Winter. :)

I'm so excited that I'm having trouble concentrating on everything. Christmas is a big family affair at my house, so we've been having fun together this morning. I can't wait to dive into [livejournal.com profile] yuletide, but that'll have to be right after brunch . . . Mom's just calling us. Sorry, my writer: I am so excited to read my story. I will do, and comment, in just a little bit.

It wasn't a particularly fandom-y holiday this year, though I do have the Eccleston Who, and a Blue Lotus pencil case. ;) And 1000+ fic will more than make up for it . . . (I can hardly believe it, wow! It's going to take me all year to read . . . )

[livejournal.com profile] sweetvalleyslut, you made out like a bandit, that's awesome. (Thank you for requesting Boy Meets World! Suddenly there is fic!)

Well, I have to go eat (god that bacon smells good), but later on, I have a little something for you folks.

must be something inside

I finally got to read my [livejournal.com profile] yuletide story, and it's marvelous. Gerda and the Snow Queen is set after the events of Hans Christian Andersen's "The Snow Queen." In spot-on Andersenian style, it tells of grown-up Gerda's attempts to help a young street urchin, and in the process, to deal with some unfinished business.

It's awesome and it was written for me! ^^ Thank you again, Santa, so very much!

I have much much more reading to do. There will be recs, I'm sure, though I can't imagine even making a dent in all the stories I want to read . . . wow.

[ETA:] [livejournal.com profile] sindohrah made me into a trading card! Thank you, honey. *blush*

Here's a little something for you all, in honor of the holidays (and in a femslashy vein, as usual):

femslash holiday

(Rachel Summers/Grey, AKA Marvel Girl or Phoenix, and Kitty Pryde, AKA Shadowcat, of course. Copyright Marvel Comics and all that.)
