not like you love your freedom
Happy spring, flist! It's not quite warm out yet, but it's getting there, and I saw my first local crocuses today. ♥ I feel so much better; I never realize quite how cranky winter was making me until it starts going away.
I was planning on writing some kind of big, thorough Watchmen review, but I can't seem to get into it, so nevermind. :) Basically, I would have done the whole feel of the film differently (grittier, more visceral violence rather than Matrix-style special effects; I thought the shiny was all wrong for the story even though I was expecting it). For what it was, it did a decent job, but I realized that . . . I didn't really want there to be a Watchmen movie, after all. I don't think we need to make movies out of every good book; it didn't bring anything new to the story, and it took all kinds of things away.
I did love the opening credits, though. *_* And there were other bits and pieces, but probably not enough to make me want to watch it again.
Speaking of comics, I just dumped most of the superhero titles off my pull list (except for Runaways and Wonder Woman, I think). I've just gotten bored with most of the stories they're telling these days, they seem more and more generic. :/ I need some new stuff to read, too; a lot of my indie titles come out very irregularly. I haven't had anything new the last two Wednesdays in a row, which makes me sad.
Fanart things have been really stalled lately (while I draw really lame autobiographical nonsense, no less), but I am determined to jumpstart that this weekend. I have been listening to TBP nonstop for the last few days, and getting ridiculously excited about BBB (
jjtaylor will keep on tantalizing me). And Pete's fourth wall shenanigans! I can't believe I've already been in this fandom for almost a year; I love it so much. ♥
001. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
002. I will respond by asking you ANY five questions of a very intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal.
003. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
004. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
005. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
( Some answers to mostly art-related questions )
