SUPER INFORMAL FEMALE CHARACTER FEST

All right! I'm thinking this thing will run until the end of the day on Saturday, March 29. (I mean, semi-officially. If you want to share something later than that, well, yes please.) ENTIRELY loose and informal: make fanworks (any kind you like) focused on female characters and/or f/f pairings, share recs, leave prompts/commentfic/drabbles in my comments for me to doodle from (I will do my best! and if I don't get to it by the 29th, I will try to still do it) ... write something based on any doodles I manage to finish/post ... etc. I will be so incredibly thrilled with ANY participation. <3

Feel free to post things and/or link them in my comments here! That would be fabulous. (DW preferred, but LJ is fine too.)

**my familiarity with recent canon is ... not a lot. but what the heck. potentially of note: my favorite characters/OTP since forever are Rachel Summers and Kitty Pryde.

Also if you're not in any of my fandoms or you don't know me but you feel like celebrating female characters in ANY fandom, I think that would be fantastic!

I would looooove to see Mako Mori in the Drift--some kind of visual stream-of-consciousness of what her Drift post-movie is like?

Also, this is kind of out there, but I am envisioning what Ellen Ripley and Mako would be like as Jaeger pilots against kaiju AND xenomorphs, oh man. Or some kind of stylized depiction of the two of them vs. their monsters? Hm.

*ahem* So I was gonna attempt to draw this, but I had another idea also, so I'm gonna leave this one as a little ficlet/thing for you to illustrate if you like, and maybe draw you the other thing.

When Utena comes home, there is an oddly-shaped thing on the table. It's big, maybe four feet tall, and rounded at the top, covered with a pink blanket.

There's a cake, too, with little pink and white roses, and teacups. She can hear Anthy humming tunelessly in the kitchen and the sound of the kettle boiling.

She's just about to touch the object when Anthy trills "Happy birthday, Utena-sama!" right in her ear, and she jerks away.

"Ah... How did you know it was my birthday?"

Anthy places the tea tray down and clasps her hands in front of her. "It is part of the Rose Bride's duties to the winner of the duel."

"You really shouldn't have..." She keeps glancing back at the gift. Occasionally she thinks she hears the sound of soft bells.

"It is my duty to please you in all ways, Utena-sama."

"Well... can I open it?"

"As you wish."

Utena whisks off the blanket and is surprised to see it's a cage underneath. The bird inside has a pink hood covering its eyes, with little bells attached to each leg. Red leather strips attach it to its perch, and a sturdy black leather glove is tucked away at the bottom of the cage.

"She's a red-tailed hawk," Anthy supplies helpfully.

"It's gorgeous," Utena says.

"Put the glove on," Anthy says, when Utena reaches to open the cage, "Utena-sama."

After a little wrangling and some help from Anthy, Utena has the bird perched carefully on her wrist. "She's beautiful. But... why a bird?"

"Oh," says Anthy. "She's no ordinary bird. She's quite young now, but with proper care she will be able to kill large prey - much larger than herself." The reflection on her glasses hides her expression.

"Anthy...?"

"That's enough excitement for today, I think," Anthy says, gently putting the bird back in her cage and covering it up. "Tea, Utena-sama?"

A friend asked for some prompts from ME, so here are some quick dashed-off ones for a bunch of fandoms, free to anyone to pick up and play with!

Art and fic are both awesome ... fic (of any length) will probably get itself illustrated. ;)

Avengers (MCU)
-Jane as part of the SCIENCE BROS! (So Jane and Tony and Bruce, getting very excited and sciency! Possibly with Darcy or Pepper looking on in amusement)

Elementary
-Mrs. Hudson saves the day when Joan is at her wit's end with some mess or other Sherlock has created around the brownstone (possibly involving chickens, but the more elaborate the better)

Lost Girl
-I really wants some Bo/Tamsin, especially involving post-battle makeouts/sex, and possibly Tamsin's wings.
-Teen Wolf crossover; the Nemeton causes some kind of Fae-related havoc that brings Bo, Kenzi and Tamsin to Beacon Hills

Orphan Black
- Clone pandemonium at Felix's … there is SCIENCE and BICKERING and (non-life-threatening) SUBURBAN EMERGENCIES and possibly multiple clones CRASHING there (with requisite non-Felix-style clutter and what have you).
-Sarah convinces Allison into trying to fool Felix about who's who (up to you whether it works, and how many times they try)
-honestly I'd take anything for this fandom, I love it SO MUCH. Not really into any romantic pairings at the moment, though.

Pacific Rim
-Anything about Mako's relationship with Stacker pre-film, from adorable childhood rituals through Jaegar-related training.

Pretty Little Liars
-Alison/Spencer ... a dance of suspicion, competition and tension.

Sailor Moon
-straight-up Michiru/Haruka schmoop or smut; bonus points for power exchange (I see Michiru as the top).
-early days of Crystal Tokyo, pre-ChibiUsa; kingdom-managing, world-building, any of the senshi (including Usagi) sorting out their roles

Teen Wolf
-I'm planning to draw something pertaining to a sadly-imaginary post-S3 spin-off starring Allison and Lydia, with Erica and Boyd in the cast as well. (Lydia's a banshee; say her powers develop so that she can interact with ghosts in a more complete sort of way! And then they fight supernatural problems BETWEEN the planes of existence ...) How I would love to have someone run with this concept too. (Bonus: Allison/Lydia!)
-Cora and Derek Hale as kids, before the fire. What was their relationship like? Adorable and/or funny preferred!
-Melissa McCall as pack mom/badass.
-AU where Allison and Kira get a chance to team up more and become good friends (much to Scott's delight, because he's great like that)

Welcome to Night Vale
