LB is Moving! Take Our Stuff

First: Wanna help us move? We will be moving on the last weekend of May--most likely Sunday, June 1 because our other three roomies move on May 31 and we don't want the front door to become a clown car. Are you available? Are you willing to lug boxes and get treated to dinner afterward? We would appreciate you (especially if you have wheels)!

- Sweet Abilene, a M/FTM porno comic by the great E.K. Weaver. Sweet Abilene is a spin-off of their webcomic Shot and Chaser, so you can get a good idea of the art and main characters! It's great! We want other people to love it!
- Festival of the Bones II: What Is Remembered Lives, an anthology of ancestor worship stories and poems edited by the Writers Egbe of Ile Orunmila Oshun. We fed it through the bookscanner, which means this book can now be liberated! (The PDF will be uploaded once we get it OCRed.)

- two spreads of the queer trans multi wedding in LB Goes To Alaska (prints made to look like the originals in a sketchbook, which include marginalia and green colored pencil underdrawing that are erased from the comic). You can see a photo of one of them here. One spread shows Zyfron and Mystics doing their wedding smooch and first dance; the other shows the wedding dance afterward. These spreads inspired the name of the art show they were framed for, "Love is for all of us." If you need high-res images of the pages in question, just ask!

May. 21st, 2025 01:20 pmomensI guess it's Wednesday! All the days are turning into a slurry, it's Miscday every day :O
TV: I have been watching Miss Night and Day with my bestie and it has been pretty fun! A magical cat has worked some magic and Lee Mijin is now in her 50s in the daytime and in her normal late 20s at night. The main lead is not as much of an initial butthole as some we've had recently! There is a serial killer plot line that connects the leads' pasts, but you can't win em all. UGH :P murder shit. We're through 7 episodes so far, fingers crossed it keeps being entertaining. I enjoy all of the characters aside from the obviously evil one.
Other than that, all my video time has gone back to language stuff - the pre-travel stress dead zone has passed! \o/
Books: I now have 3 books on the go, lol. A memoir about an Irish guy's family that isn't as entertaining as it should be, Gretchen McCulloch's Because Internet which is also not clicking with me as much as I expected (love her, v much enjoy the Lingthusiasm podcast), and Hammajang Luck which I've just started but seems v interesting so far!
Games: dipping back into Stardew to finish up year 2. Not as absorbing now that it's not early game. I saw the Ghost Detective mobile game (thru Netflix) has an update and now I regret deleting it. Might be fun to start over but idk idk.
Writing and other wips: I have been doing YARD STUFF. Cleaning out my front garden, planting herbs, bought some hangers to hang planters. Mowed the lawn for the first time ever at 44 (applause) ....but no writing, lol. I have been reading my wips like o_o come back to me, my loves ;_; but too much other shit on the go right now.

Absolute Martian Manhunter #2

That was part of my pitch, that maybe the DC Universe J'onn felt a little bit in between alien and human, in a way that wasn't a positive for the character, that wasn't a positive for readers. Where he is a little too alien to be relatable to, and maybe a little too human to really be awed by the alienness of him. And so that's part of why I separated the two characters and made John Jones a human being that we can relate to, and make the Martian this really strange alien consciousness that that has strange ideas that maybe that are not so relatable to us, and that's okay, because they're not really relatable to John either, and John's our way in and through John, hopefully we'll come to see whether those ideas are palatable or not. -- Deniz Camp
