Haven't had much time for fandom lately, aside from the reading of Stargate: Atlantis fic, and the occasional bit of comic discussion over at Rachel X. I did post some Marvel fanart over at deviantART fairly recently, though (Rachel!Phoenix, and Nico/Karolina).

Today, however, I have to share something. For any of you who have ever been part of the Harry Potter fandom (in one way or another): a retrospective.

It's hilarious . . . I can't believe how much of that I remember. Damn. Thanks so much to banfennid for the heads' up.

I also came really close to actually making a post over at Fandom Wank today, related to the godawful first part of the Return to Labyrinth manga. Sadly, a good chunk of the mess was located in an underaged journal. C'est la vie. Watashi ga watashi de iru kagiri.

Hopefully I'll have a chance to write a full, scathing review of said horrible manga sequel to my favorite movie. I will post it here if I manage, as well as in that other journal.

I didn't know you liked SGA! Find any well-written fic? All I seem to be able to find is stuff that reads like it was written by a seven-year old (and I'd know, 'cause I've had to grade 2nd grade papers--gah!).

I love SGA. ^^ There's quite a lot of fic out there that I enjoy, but it all depends on what you're looking for. I'm almost entirely a slash fan, so most of what I read is McKay/Sheppard slash.

Ah. Yeah, I've heard that most of the good writing is in slash, but it's just not my cup of tea (probably because I have a huge crush on Sheppard, LOL). But most anything Shep-centric is what draws me in. :D

Hey, do you have access to a browser other than IE? I have this Teyla site that I made a new layout for, and I need someone who has Foxfire, Netscape, or Opera to check it out before I put it up. I'd do it, but those browsers keep crashin' my comp. -_-

John's kind of irresistable, I know. To me too. (Apparently I squeal like a fourteen-year-old, which terrifies my friend because I'm not usually that attracted to men.) I just generally don't find het pairings very appealing. To each their own and that.

My friend might have some stuff in her bookmarks (http://del.icio.us/bastet). There are tags (to the right) for all sorts of pairings, and I'd imagine she has a "gen" tag as well. She's a little more well-rounded than I am.

Yeah, Firefox is my primary browser. ^^ Give me the link and I'll try and check it out when I get home tonight.

Heh, I know, she's nuts. I've been using her recs as a filter since we started out in the Harry Potter fandom together, back when we were in our middle teens. :p I'm always glad to share.

Wow, that's a gorgeous layout (and I like it better than the previous). I've always been jealous and admiring of your graphic skills, hon, your websites are beautiful. (Doesn't hurt that the subject of this one is, too . . . god, I have such a crush.) Anyway, it mostly looks fine, but a couple of the section links are a bit out of alignment, as you can see here (http://themelodrama.net/thecheese/amberteyla.jpg). And thanks for the compliment. I think this layout *is* better than the last. I just needed something different that could stand out amongst other fansites.

Oh yes--last night's ep was wonderful! Momoa did some excellent acting there, and the team dynamics were just brill. I didn't think it'd be quite that good, but it ended up being one of the best of the entire three seasons.

Now if only more TV shows could employ character development as a plot device, I'd be one happy viewer. :D

Seriously, though. I loved your Rachel and Dark Phoenix sites for ages before I ever had the first clue who you were. As someone who uses Microsoft Frontpage to make her websites, I'm a little in awe. ;p

If only SGA would focus on character development like that all the time, or at least more often. It was amazing! I've been so irked with the writers lately. Now I have a little faith back, I hope they keep on earning it.

They do that and focus on the female characters just a little more (Elizabeth and Teyla could even, y'know, interact the way the guys do), and I'll be a more than a happy viewer. ;)

Well, I aim to please with my websites. :) And it's really not all that hard to do--it just takes a lot of creativity and practice. Judging by your art, I'd say you've got the creativity part. You just need to ditch Frontpage--it's eeeeeevil! ::nods::

The SGA writers said in an interview that S3 is going to be mostly character development. I dunno if you've been reading spoilers or not, but there's already two Weir-centric eps, one McKay, talk of a Shep one, and a couple more team ones. Now if only they'd give Teyla some. One ep a season focusing on her Wrathiness does SO not count. Give the girl some background!
