D'oh myself; X-Factor was on my list of things to nominate, and I wound up cutting it. I agree, we need Monet/Siryn! I could also go for Madrox/just about anyone, come to think of it.
Oh, you have a point. I mean, I'm always so happy to have a real, live, canon lesbian in my comics, it's kind of a letdown to have them pairing her up with someone who I'm pretty sure sees himself as intrinsically male.
On the other hand, while Xavin's attitude towards Victor bothers me, for sure, though I have to admit that sometimes I enjoy uptight/prejudiced characters, and watching them learn (hopefully). I think Xavin adds something to the group, and I'm even interested to read about his relationship with Karolina . . . so long as it's written well. If he's really gender-fluid, I want to see that; if he's what I suspect, I want to see it dealt with. Either could be interesting, so long as they're not glossed over forever. And if these issues are dealt with, they might still have potential as a couple. (It occurs to me that this is what I should really be requesting.)
I do worry that I'm being a bit gender-essentialist in wanting "real" lesbians or something, I guess? And yet.
(This is why I love Runaways, though . . . it gives me a real, interesting issue to deal with. Not "is Rachel even the same person since the reboot? Where is her personality go?" Not that I'm bitter.)
