I’ve been shipping this intensely from the first scene they were in together! And I was absolutely heartbroken that they didn’t get to see or even talk to each other at the end of Season 5, after everything that happened, which has really upped my shippy craving.

While the show seems to want to portray their canon relationship as a fling, or at least as in the past … Camina has canonically been in a polyamorous relationship. I’d be thrilled with a take on them as “comet” partners (who see each other seldom but make a point of spending time together when they do) or FWB, in a relationship that is fully consensual with their other partners. (I really do not care much about Naomi’s relationship with Holden one way or another, tbh, but infidelity leaves a sour taste in my mouth.)

When it comes to power dynamics (always something I’m thinking about), I tend to imagine these two as switchy/having fun with a power struggle. I don’t see them going in for D/s with each other, or having a set dynamic in terms of top/bottom stuff.

Yeah, so, OTP. One of them was literally created to open the tomb; the other was just as literally created to guard it and keep it closed. After leaving the Ninth, they were each pretty much the only person the other had (as a friend and as an enemy) even BEFORE they wound up occupying the same body. Gideon died for Harrow; Harrow gave herself DIY brain surgery for Gideon. They’re just so delightfully over-the-top!

I’d prefer nothing kinky set pre-books, as they were both so young and mostly hated each other (or at least framed it that way), though having reference to stuff that happened then inform a kinky encounter later would be great!

Some prompt-ish things:

I hardly know where to start with what I love about this pair. The absolute loyalty? The butch/femme hotness of it all? Their deep intimacy and bantering, flirtatious established relationship? I will say that, in general, I prefer Michiru to be in charge (although I suspect Haruka would make a fine service top as well). I’ve always enjoyed Haruka’s outrageous flirting with the Inners, Usagi in particular, and the very flustered responses she gets. Combine that with my toppy!Michiru headcanon (and dislike of infidelity) and the intense loyalty to the Princess that both Outers express in the manga especially, and … mmm. I’m mostly imagining a scenario in which the devoted senshi introduce their Princess to sexual pleasure (whether we’re talking a Silver Millenium scenario, pre-Dark Kingdom attack, or in Tokyo in the “present”). This pair is one of my longest-standing, most ironclad OTPs, and you can find all kinds of stuff about them under my “fandom: x-men” tag, although … in most exchanges, I tend to focus on the goofiness of their Excalibur adventures more than anything. When I was thinking about this exchange, though, I felt rather drawn to ideas around catharsis and caretaking through kink, with regard to Rachel’s traumatic history. The fact that her terrible past comes with so much BDSM coding makes me want to see her in more positive, healing kinky scenarios; and she and Kitty have such a deep, trusting, intimate connection, complete with psychic link. (I go back to this one scene in Excalibur #75 where Rachel actually brings Kitty into her traumatic memories. Sigh. <3)

I’d prefer a story set when Kitty herself is at least 17 or 18, but you can play fast and loose with how that matches up with their various teams/eras/etc, as you like. Maybe not Rachel’s earliest days with the X-Men, but … Excalibur, as teachers at the Jean Grey school, on Krakoa … creator’s choice.

Something else I’d enjoy would be a story where Rachel is putting on a cocky/cheerful attitude, but Kitty can see through it and insist on doing something about it in private. A little humor or banter to lighten things at the beginning and/or end is always good with this pair.

I’d love a story where the focus is on the aftercare as much as the play; Kitty cleaning Rachel with a warm or cool washcloth, snuggling her, playing with her hair, talking her back to herself (whether aloud or over their link). Art showing something like this would also be lovely (something where there are visible rope or impact marks, for example).

I love shibari/rope bondage as a method of creating relaxation, rhythm, a sense of security, or easing a submissive into subspace, and that could be really lovely here.

I’d enjoy something set at any point in their long past together, anytime in the first half of the 20th century in particular! Mid-caper semi-public hooking up, post-fight cathartic sex, or grabbing the opportunity of rare peacefulness … all wonderful. (Whether as costumed supervillains, or the days when I suspect they were pre-costume and probably oftentimes a lot more ambiguous in terms of their allegiances and goals.)

Raven is certainly an aggressive person, while Irene often comes off as more reserved, but this is another case where I’d enjoy seeing that dynamic reversed in private.
