Hey there! First of all, I am so sorry that I flubbed the deadline and didn't get back to my AO3 sign-up in time to enter the link to this letter. (I misremembered the time! It was a very silly thing to do!) Hopefully, it's easy to find?

The end of this book is tantalizing! I’d be delighted if you just picked up right there. ;) Maud and Sue in the library, seeing each other without secrets for the first time, and about to … explore Maud's chosen subject, in any number of ways.

As a sort of framing ... I really enjoy Victorian erotic photography (lingerie, posing and framing choices, hair styles and range of body types) and artwork; also, way back (too many years ago) in college, I took a class that covered written Victorian erotica, which was often kind of hilarious as well as (sometimes) being hot, and historically fascinating, etc. I would love fic that centers Maud’s inherited library; using storytelling meta to frame an encounter/their developing relationship, playing with historically-accurate slang/language/sensibilities, sex toys/fashion, and so forth.

Apart from an immediate post-book scene where the two of them explore each other and some of the library materials together at the same time, here are a couple ideas:

Maud writing about what she wants to do to Sue, or what she wants Sue to do to her, and reading it to her as foreplay

Sue learning to read, in part through lessons with the smutty books, with appropriate rewards

Just ... learning each other, sexually and otherwise. If Sue moves in with Maud at Briar, how does she occupy herself/contribute to the household? What conflicts do they have with each other as a result of their different upbringings? How much did each learn from their sojurn in the other's world, and what kind of life do they create together, different from each.

Abigail Pent/Dulcinea Septimus

One of the many things I really loved about Harrow the Ninth was that we got so much more Abigail, and that we got to meet the real Dulcinea. I love them both - Abigail's sheer historical nerdery, the way she takes charge and manages the bizarre ghost-play situation behind the scenes, and her endless wryness and generosity. Dulcinea’s embrace of her disembodied autonomy, her horniness for revenge, her brilliant, dazzling refusal to accept any particular limitations anymore, all flavored with humor and a deceptively delicate touch. And I imagine them working together a lot behind the scenes, working out what’s going on and teaming up for various purposes. I’d love to see a fic exploring a partnership like that between them, parallel to/elaborating on what we see in the book - and Dulcie strikes me as a ghost who is ready to enjoy some dalliances with the hot history nerd (we already knows she likes nerds) in the background of a death-and-deathier-death scenario if she damn well wants to. And Magnus, I firmly believe, would be totally okay with it. (I love Magnus; please be nice to him.) Bonus fun could be had with scandalizing Harrow, or perhaps the Fourth House teens (before they were sent on)!

I ... don't have more complex prompts for this one, honestly. I'd be happy if the focus was on intense necromantic research and planning/directing the others, with sexual tension/activity developing from the intellectual connection and partnership! Or Dulcinea could just sort of take stock and go, fuck it, what I believe about myself has more of a direct effect on my surroundings here, and why not take advantage of that in other ways? Anything at all with this pair will thrill me.

Gideon Nav/Harrowhark Nonagesimus

Yeah, so, OTP. One of them was literally created to open the tomb; the other was just as literally created to guard it and keep it closed. After leaving the Ninth, they were each pretty much the only person the other had (as a friend and as an enemy) even BEFORE they wound up occupying the same body. Gideon died for Harrow; Harrow gave herself DIY brain surgery for Gideon. They’re just so delightfully over-the-top!

I’d prefer nothing kinky set pre-books, as they were both so young and mostly hated each other (or at least framed it that way), though having reference to stuff that happened then inform a kinky encounter later would be great!

Some prompt-ish things:

what if Gideon were in conscious control of Harrow’s body every time Harrow went off to her little reimagined Canaan House? Sneaking around spying on Lyctors at night, or doing secret workouts since Harrow wasn’t lifting or doing press-ups on her OWN, damn it (leading Harrow to wonder why she keeps waking up sore). I'd be okay with Gideon "masturbating" with Harrow's body (though that would be dubiously consensual, arguably - handle with care?), or Harrow figuring out what's going on and the two of them engaging in some kind of either shared consciousness, or quasi-long-distance connection/romance/sexiness via letters (kind of "Ladyhawke"-esque, but in stead of shape-shifting they're alternating in the same body).

A version of the above in which they “masturbate” together and keep fighting over control of Harrow’s body as they do?

mid-GtN: Harrow reads one of Gideon’s magazines out of boredom or curiosity or the desire to mock her, and winds up uncomfortably aroused/into it. Gideon somehow catches on or catches her reading it/another one/touching herself. Someone’s in trouble … but which one? And what comic/titty mag-inspired fantasies does Gideon already have that she might have to answer for, or want to attempt to play out?

reunion sex in some nebulous future, with Gideon somehow being back/alive/in her body again. Preferably with a particularly toppy Harrow, though Gideon attempting to top from the bottom would also be fun. Scenarios could vary; back at the 9th, post-battle of some kind, inside the locked tomb itself ...

For a non-sexual M-rated story: I'd enjoy a detailed/nuanced (and necessarily somewhat dark and conflicted) snapshot of their relationship as children, with all their rivalry, bitterness, hatred and companionship. In spite of their enmity, that intense loyalty they develop had to have its beginnings back in the Ninth ... I crave complexity here.


Gideon Nav/Harrowhark Nonagesimus & Ianthe Tridentarius

Ianthe’s insistence on flirting at Harrow and her semi-contemptuous bantering with Gideon both hold such delightful possibilities for poor hook-up choices, don’t they? I’m especially enamoured of scenarios which combine her with Gideon/Harrow body-sharing, in a sexy capacity … in my head, most of the following notions take place in a just slightly/conveniently canon-divergent version of HtN, but feel free to move things around as you like!

Prompts:

Ianthe is having sex with Harrow, but Harrow and Gideon keep swapping control of Harrow’s body and doing things differently and everyone’s arguing but also super into it (even if they’re trying to pretend like they’re not)

Ianthe and Gideon compete over who can successfully seduce Harrow. Possibly while Gideon and Harrow are sharing a body; possibly not. Either way, it winds up becoming a joint effort.

Ianthe attempts to seduce Harrow, not realizing that Harrow is “asleep” and she’s talking to Gideon instead. Rival sex ensues; Harrow wakes up at some point in the middle.

Wayfarers Series - Becky Chambers

A Closed and Common Orbit is one of my favorite books of the last decade, easily, and Sidra is an endlessly appealing character in particular: her boundless curiosity, the mismatching programming/sensory processing that she has to contend with in her (eventually truly) chosen mode of existence, her exploration of what it means to exist and be a person and make a life for herself … that’s my jam. As is anything around people from vastly different backgrounds (and with different personalities and priorities) learning to coexist and love each other.

Tak was the first friend Sidra went out and made for herself, completely apart from her origins, and it’s such an important source of growth for both of them. Their friendship is full of intellectual curiosity and exploration, and I love how they each force the other out of their respective comfort zones (to varying degrees). I see Tak as a particularly great partner for Sidra to continue exploring embodied existence with - understanding of her different needs and interests, and willing to learn and adapt (especially after an initial shock).

In a sexual content context, I’m especially fascinated by the question of how Sidra would experience sex (emotionally, sensorally, socially, etc), as a being who was not originally designed for anything like that. And I have a weakness for xenobiology - what does sex look like for Tak? How does her experiences as a shon contribute to her experience in female mode specifically (which is of course what we’re looking at for this exchange)?

Prompts:

One night at Home, Pei, the Aeluon from The Long Way To A Small, Angry Planet is there having a drink during shore leave and observes Sidra and Tak being clueless about each other. Maybe she gives Tak some friendly advice/encouragement on the whole taboo interspecies dating front? Maybe Sidra seeks out HER advice (after an introduction/some background from Pepper and/or Blue)? And well, there’s that very convenient bedroom up above the bar …

Sidra decides to explore the concepts of dating and sex, in her typical methodical way, to see if they’re for her. Tak, her usual (if often bemused) partner in social exploration, takes her on a date - and is surprised (or not surprised) by how much it’s not “just an exercise” for her? Sidra winds up navigating social conventions AND very real feelings …

Possibly in the context of the previous prompt - Sidra and Tak specifically explore the .. range of her sensory analogues, (picking up from that one dance scene with the Aandrisks)

I am so fascinated by Sidra’s petbots. Does she use them to flirt? Do her friends (especially Tak) use them to tease her in some way? Could be an interesting vehicle for some covert foreplay ...

I’d prefer stories set during the Silver Millennium or the “present,” rather than in Neo Tokyo; I’d also strongly prefer that your work be set when all the characters involved are at least 16 years old.

Kaiou Michiru/Tenoh Haruka

I hardly know where to start with what I love about this pair. The absolute loyalty? The butch/femme hotness of it all? Their deep intimacy and bantering, flirtatious established relationship? I will say that, in general, I prefer Michiru to be in charge (although I suspect Haruka would make a fine service top as well). She strikes me as someone who pretty much gets what she wants, and also someone who has the patience for really exquisite rope work. ;)

I do have some different ideas of how that might work:

Haruka enjoys flirting with/flustering Usagi as we’ve seen in canon; Michiru catches her at it, and suggests that they demonstrate their love for their Princess together

Usagi (or Serenity) goes to them for help/advice, virtually clueless about everything, and they take care of/teach her

Haruka & Michiru are giving Usagi a ride; she feels excited and nervous as she often does when alone with them, the conversation turns suggestive, and they’re on a lonely stretch of road overlooking the ocean ...

Michiru directs Haruka in making love to the Princess, or the two work together as a team ...


Sailor Pluto/Queen Serenity

Sailor Pluto/Queen Serenity (the elder Queen Serenity of the Silver Millennium) is one of my favorite rarepairs; the apparently solitary Queen of the Moon Kingdom and her loyal, isolated soldier who guards the gates of time and watches over the Kingdom from afar! Pining, fealty, eventual tragedy, oh my.

Some ideas:

a clandestine assignation! Sailor Pluto visiting the Moon Palace to give a report, perhaps, and then surreptitiously retiring to the Queen’s chambers … (I know this is technically against one of Pluto’s three taboos, but I think we can get a little handwavy, where such a report is part of her duties and doesn’t qualify as “leaving her post”?)

Pluto offering service to her Queen in her bedroom (whether a sexual act, or a massage, bringing her a beverage, etc, where one of them is nude and the other clothed, or there’s an otherwise overt kinky vibe (fine if this doesn’t get into sex acts specifically)

Queen Serenity visits Pluto at her lonely outpost to “inspect” the Space-Time Door and its guardian …

In this case, I included the "Other M/E" tag mostly because I was thinking about Rachel's trauma, and the intense and sometimes problematic ways it interacts with her bond with Kitty (and her memories of her timeline's Kate Pryde). Although it could work as well for Irene and Raven's amoral methods, now that I think about it.

Kitty Pryde/Rachel Summers

This pair is one of my longest-standing, most ironclad OTPs, and you can find all kinds of stuff about them under my “fandom: x-men” tag, although … in most exchanges, I tend to focus on the goofiness of their Excalibur adventures more than anything. When I was thinking about this exchange, though, I felt rather drawn to ideas around catharsis and caretaking through kink, with regard to Rachel’s traumatic history. The fact that her terrible past comes with so much BDSM coding makes me want to see her in more positive, healing kinky scenarios; and she and Kitty have such a deep, trusting, intimate connection, complete with psychic link. (I go back to this one scene in Excalibur #75 where Rachel actually brings Kitty into her traumatic memories. Sigh. <3) This could include non-sexual kink practice if you like; I enjoy that just as much as the kind with genitals and orgasms, especially when it comes to this kind of cathartic purpose!

I’d prefer a story set when Kitty herself is at least 17 or 18, but you can play fast and loose with how that matches up with their various teams/eras/etc, as you like. Maybe not Rachel’s earliest days with the X-Men, but … Excalibur, as teachers at the Jean Grey school, on Krakoa … creator’s choice.

Something else I’d enjoy would be a story where Rachel is putting on a cocky/cheerful attitude, but Kitty can see through it, and they wind up dealing with it together in some fashion (sexual/kinky or otherwise). A little humor or banter to lighten things at the beginning and/or end is always good with this pair.

I’d love a story where the focus is on the aftercare as much as the play; Kitty cleaning Rachel with a warm or cool washcloth, snuggling her, playing with her hair, talking her back to herself (whether aloud or over their link). Art showing something like this would also be lovely (something where there are visible rope or impact marks, for example).

I love shibari/rope bondage as a method of creating relaxation, rhythm, a sense of security, or easing a submissive into subspace, and that could be really lovely here.

Impact or pain leading to subspace is great too. I tend to prefer things that don’t break the skin, but redness/bruises can be delightful. So is forcing the sub to agree to positive things about herself.

I have a great fondness for Phoenix imagery; if you wanted to work that into a visual piece (maybe with bondage, or as part of telepathic sexiness), that would be neat.

Art which juxtaposes a happier 616 Kitty/Rachel with the darker/more painful memories of 811 Kate & Rachel?

I've had a deep attachment to Kitty and Rachel's exchange on this page since before I could even entirely explain what I saw between them as a kid. When Kitty literally held Rachel's naked body on her return/rescue during X-Treme X-Men #44-45, I so desperately wanted them to kiss "hello." If you wanted to take a crack at reimagining this scene (and please feel free not to mimic the art style if so), you'd basically make my year.



Irene Adler | Destiny/Raven Darkholme | Mystique

Queer adventurer/villain/mutant activist wives. I mean. <3 After being editorially closeted for decades, they deserve some joy and sexy times. (Additionally - anything dealing with accessibility in a positive way would be lovely.)

Some thoughts:

I’d enjoy something set at any point in their long past together, anytime in the first half of the 20th century in particular! Mid-caper semi-public hooking up, post-fight cathartic sex, or grabbing the opportunity of rare peacefulness … all wonderful. (Whether as costumed supervillains, or the days when I suspect they were pre-costume and probably oftentimes a lot more ambiguous in terms of their allegiances and goals.)

Similarly, caperfic without sex, maybe something where Raven and Irene wind up having some kind of ideological conflict they have to resolve to complete/salvage the mission (and reconcile emotionally).

Raven is certainly an aggressive person, while Irene often comes off as more reserved, but this is another case where I’d enjoy seeing that dynamic reversed in private. I imagine Raven as a service top, devoted to her wife, following instructions or just prioritizing her in general. (And woe betide anyone who is so much as rude to Irene! Post-revenge sex could be fun.)

For art, I’d especially enjoy anything playing with historical fashion/hair styles/lingerie/sex toys … recognizable settings from anywhere in the world would also be neat!
