reflectedeveOh wow, I'm tired. I came down with a bad headcold on Tuesday (I seem to have a curse, that's the third Halloween in a row I've been sick), and it's lingering.

yuletide assignment last night, and it is so damn exciting . . . absolutely the best I could have hoped for, I think! I can't wait to get started on the research. (Obsessive that I am, I like to refresh myself on the canon as thoroughly as possible. Last year, I reread almost every single ElfQuest book: Interlibrary Loan must have been very, very tired of me.)
So I'm sorry it's taken me this long to get to this, but:
Dear Yuletide Santa,
I realize that I gave you pretty detailed prompts this year. Please don't be alarmed: I will not be angry if you don't follow them! It's true that I have some pretty specific wish-fics in mind, but I've only detailed them for you like that in case you're the sort of writer who likes to have a lot to work with. (I know that sometimes a very sparse request has left me somewhat frustrated.)
The truth is, I'll be very happy indeed with whatever you write for me. The fact that you offered one of my four fandoms makes you automatically awesome in my eyes. Of course, I have some pretty clear preferences. I'm a bit of a femslash fanatic, as I'm sure you noticed. *laughs* But! I enjoy gen very much as well; all my requests are pretty much based around a love of female interaction or companionship, period. I like "first times" and happy endings, but these things are optional. I'm also very fond of smut, but there is absolutely no requirement there.
Please don't try and force yourself to stick to my specifications! I'd much rather you write a story that you feel good about, and enjoy writing. The only really important preference I have is for accurate characterization. I'd also rather have the really rough edges left out: I don't enjoy non-consensual sex, torture, or character death. Aside from that, heck, go wild. :)
