rocking the Intensity Boat

Today could really have been pretty awful, with my boss out again, my floor almost empty (and silent as the grave, tempting me to play really inappropriate music), and my most obnoxious of coworkers occasionally breathing down my neck. (She is the queen of trivial details.) However! Several excellent reasons why it was not:

-The fact that I sketched out almost the entire second half of the coffee comic, in the morning before my coworker had a chance to start with the hovering. Apparently I should do big projects in halves more often; seeing the completely-finished first bit in front of me while I work is seriously encouraging.

-chmclfairytales's Baby!Ways picspam. It reduced me to RL giggles (and includes a shot of artist!Gerard that I hadn't seen before; I will be strong and not tape it to the cover of my sketchbook).

-My band. ♥ You can read all about Intensity Boat, our first album (Here, Have Some Poncho), and our upcoming tour right here in our sexy bassist and spokeswoman's journal. I, of course, am the pretentious artiste guitarist (& occasional keyboardist) with not one but two stage names, and a look vaguely reminiscent of Two Face (without the actual facial scarring). Twee-core is here to stay, sister! I wish it were real, I'd be out of this office-bound life so fast . . . thanks to olivia_circe and jjtaylor for enlivening my afternoon. Did someone mention liner notes?

It's funny how you can know this, but not know this. I only just recently started really believing it through several accidental cut-in-half projects. Of course, I still WANT to start and finish everything instantly. But. XD

I know what you mean! /o\ I always want it to go from my head to straight in front of me, immediately. But, last time I tried to force a story through to the end in sketches, before inking any of it . . . I never finished the damn thing. I got discouraged (my pieces usually look terrible in their middle stages). I think this was an important lesson.

Darling, you were the clear choice. ♥ And no replacing allowed! Bob's busy anyway, with his side project, writing songs about Gerard. ;) (You should really go check out all the bizarre backstory we've been concocting in JJ's post (http://jjtaylor.livejournal.com/324693.html).)

Miss you too! You really should swing by these parts sometime, if you get the chance. (I love this fandom, though; I know I'll get to see you at two upcoming concerts. Rel and I finally purchased our Leathermouth tickets!)
