I made some new friends this weekend, and they? Have a cat named D'Argo. ♥ I haven't watched any Farscape in ages.

Holiday exchange wackiness all around! [livejournal.com profile] yuletart sign-ups are live, OMG. (If you're at all curious about what I requested/offered, the comments are public.) I am very glad that they moved the deadline earlier this year. I kind of ran out of steam by the time I got to it last year, which was a shame, because I kind of think it's the best idea ever. MULTIFANDOM FANART EXCHANGE, YOU GUYS. Seriously. :DDD

Also, [livejournal.com profile] yuletide brainstorming has been going on over here! I have some preliminary thoughts on offering/requesting.

So, here's a rough list of things I'm considering offering this year (depending on what makes the list, of course). It won't be all of this . . . I'm really going to need to tighten up, things are going to be too crazy this season for me to take huge risks, and I won't have the time to do much refresher reading.

Bible – New Testament
Blue Monday (comic)
Castle Waiting
Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog
Dykes To Watch Out For
Elfquest
Empire Records
Excalibur (1998 comic)
Fairy Tales (trad)
Finder (comic)
From Eroica With Love
Jesus Christ Superstar
Lucifer (comic)
The Middleman
Mirrormask
Neil Gaiman – Stardust (book or comic)
Penelope (movie)
Peter Pan (book)
Runaways (comic)
Saved!
Stardust (movie)
Young Justice

I'm tentatively planning to nominate the following (unless I panic and nominate The Middleman, even though I'm sure multiple other people will as well):
Blue Monday (comic)
Dykes to Watch Out For
RPF - Historical (pirates!)
Penelope
Sarah Waters - Fingersmith (the book, of course)
Strangers in Paradise

I'm being indecisive about requests this year. I'm definitely asking for The Middleman (favorite new fandom ♥), but I'm not sure about specifics at all (except that I probably want Wendy-centric, unless I want Lacey/Middleman, hmmm), and I'm comfortably confident that there will be some fic, even if it's not specifically for me. Aside from that, I'm feeling pretty laid back about the whole thing.

I mean, femslash is always awesome. I'll probably put out the request for Mary Read/Anne Bonney that I decided against last year, because that's still an awesome idea. I think I might ask for Sarah Waters' Fingersmith, too, because while it's not exactly my favorite book (I do like it, but) . . . it leaves off at such a tantalizing place, and there is so much potential for Victorian erotica references and writing/story meta (possibly with porn). Mmmm. And (or), I might repeat my Strangers in Paradise request, because that comic really deserves fic, and Casey/Tambi is still particularly intriguing to me.

(As for my other unfilled request of last year, um, I think I'm going to give that particular fandom a rest. Much as I love it, it's clear that the creator has both her name and the title of her comic on Google alert, which she checks very thoroughly. She hasn't exactly expressed disapproval (and I kind of doubt she would, from what I know of her), but it makes me uncomfortable.)

I'm also considering Penelope (the movie with Christina Ricci), which strikes me as having lots of fic potential, though I think I might offer that and not request it. Maybe I'll ask for some Wodehouse or Dorothy L. Sayers fic . . . I've been really into those books this year. Or maybe Lymond, I never did ask for that. Heck, maybe I'll see something unexpected and inspiring in the nominations.

It occurs to me: [livejournal.com profile] mina_de_malfois as a [livejournal.com profile] yuletide fandom?

I just found out that my final paper is due about three days after I return from Europe (assuming that works out). Which means I'd better finish it before Christmas. Ahaha oh god, this year. That's what decided me on the Avatar slash exchange (maybe if there's another one later, I really want to, but).

All this fuss, and it's the first of October. I haven't got my costume together yet! /o\ Need to go shopping.

And, randomly: this is seriously bizarre. (Not at all the same thing, but it reminds me of that hilarious "Grayson" trailer that used to be on youtube. I wonder if that's still around.)
