So tonight I'm going to see my favorite (smaller) band perform at Johnny D's in Davis Square. Enter the Haggis! Celtic rock punk folk bluegrass blues jazz ska oh whatever, let's just call it fusion. ♥ I was going to see them three or four times a year until I got all blindsided by restructuring my life; I can't wait to see them again. (New album in under a week, too! \o/ My preorder comes with shot glasses. Obviously.)

A few random songs:
Gasoline
Martha Stuart
Minstrel Boy
Life For Love
Lancaster Gate
Cynical
What I've Done (live)
The Death of Johnny Mooring

Also, brief video silliness. :D

Meanwhile, across the street in the (rather small) Somerville Theatre, U2. What. (And the only way I heard about this? The guy at Johnny D's actually called me back after I made my reservation, to warn me. I should pay more attention to local news.)

They're going to be here in a few days, but I'm working. I was working last time they came to town, too. D: You're like the third person I've seen mention that they're awesome, but I just never get the chance to go see for myself.

Perhaps listening to the songs might help . . .

Awww, well, hopefully you will have other chances? They come to Northampton a lot; usually in March and November, and also July-ish for the Glasgowlands festival in Look Park.

(That said, the same thing happened to me with the Dresden Dolls. I could never get to any of their shows! I even got sick that one Halloween when they played at Pearl Street. I finally saw Amanda in November, and I've been a fan for I think four years or so.)

But yes, you should totally check out the songs. :) Let me know if you want more.

Given I'll probably be here a while longer, I think I'll probably have the chance at some point. And IIRC their shows are usually pretty cheap, too. \o/

I will totally check out the songs after work. I think I meant to leave ten minutes ago. Er.

I really want to go see them with you again sometime.

(I brought Beck & Sarah to this show! They are hooked, I think.)

Nice! More people hooked is always a good thing. Yeah it would be nice to at least be in the same city as you for once. Any free weekends you have between now and late May?

Free weekends, sure! Money to travel to Baltimore, I'm not so sure about. :/ I've started lying about being a student again, just to get as far as the Valley. (Is something happening in late May?)
