it doesn't ever end

Sorry for the spam, bbs, but I thought I might also post some
yuletide recs. I haven't managed to get any up before reveals in a few years! (I don't think I'm going to link this in the comm, though - it's kind of flooded.)
These are really pretty random. I haven't read anything in the Madness collection yet, and I haven't read everything in all of these fandoms, either. I was just clicking at random for awhile there, though I did read straight through most of the Leverage fic at one point.
Fandoms: Alleluia (Dar Williams), Arcadia, Arthurian Legends, Being Human, Castle Waiting, Dykes To Watch Out For, Eastwick, Fried Green Tomatoes, Gunnerkrigg Court, Jeeves & Wooster, Leverage, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (Spirited Away), and Victor/Victoria.
Alleluia (Dar Williams)
Glories Stream is my wonderful gift-fic, which expands on the Heaven portrayed in the song. Sexy and irreverent; joyful as well as cynical. Seriously, folks: punk angel femslash. ♥
Arcadia
All That's Best of Dark and Bright "I told him you kissed me. But he will not tell." A scene between Septimus and Thomasina, leading up to their final one in the play. The dialogue is witty and layered; it recalls Stoppard nicely.
Arthurian Legends
Conscience: two knights hold an allegiance more dear than Arthur, lady, or God. It's a fairly brief piece, but Mordred and Galahad make a fascinating odd couple.
Being Human
Stray: in which George is a bit prickly (in spite of longing for close companionship), but an unexpected feline interloper smooths things out in his household. This is adorable!
Castle Waiting
Confiteor is a Sister Peace adventure that Medley herself could have written; funny and sensible and sad. I'm so thrilled that someone wrote for this fandom (a comic series I highly recommend), and it's really good! :D
Dykes To Watch Out For
Five New Love Truths You Need To Know is told from the perspective of Janis, and deals with navigating life as a homeschooled, transgendered teenager (particularly one being raised by the gaggle of aging lesbians and hippies that fill out DTWOF's main cast). Her voice is strong, and the piece insightful - one of this year's best, I think.
Eastwick
She's Got a New Spell is the Joanna/Kat femslash I've been wanting for ages. (I should note that I still haven't watched the 8th episode, or anything after. :/) It's hot, a little awkward, and a little fast; all of which I think is appropriate. :)
Fried Green Tomatoes
And Your People Shall Be My People tells us how Ruth's son wound up with Idgie's last name. I particularly adore Ruth's strength of mind in this, and the (brief, but explicit) easy intimacy between the couple. Lovely.
Gunnerkrigg Court
Conversations About Boys gives us a brief bit of Kat/Annie interaction, in the aftermath of yet another Court adventure. I like the Kat voice a lot, and they're so adorable together - I love this pairing. :)
Winsbury's Literary Prowess has a pretty self-explanatory title, really. :p Winsbury is a Secret Author! Mort discovers this and inflicts terror of a different nature. Funny and totally something I can see happening in canon; plus, it showcases a couple of my favorite minor characters.
Jeeves & Wooster
Bertram and Bunnies is a brief but delightful little piece. Great Bertie voice, and . . . I'm a sucker for people drawing people, even if it's only mentioned briefly. :)
Ever After, What? - also short, but it made me smile. Bertie and Jeeves run afoul of some fairy tale hijinks, in the midst of one of their more usual capers. The witch blames jazz.
Leverage
Chocolate and Chile and Cloves is interesting because I enjoy the sorting-out more than the sexytimes (even had they not been interrupted). Alec really likes the idea of putting Eliot in handcuffs, but Parker is not so fond of the activity. Navigating relationships and caring about each other! Nice.
Deck the Tree with False Blossoms - in which the team doesn't manage too well without Sophie. A well-laid-out caper that I can imagine in a real episode, good voices, and Sophie saving the day: I love this a whole lot.
Four Times Hardison Told His Nana He Was Sorry, And One Time He Said He Was (But Totally Wasn't) - in which Hardison is not the kind of fanboy to sit back and take it from TPTB. Hee. We had some fun depictions of Hardison's geekery this year, but this one's probably my favorite.
Your head's a dead tomato splot with moldy purple spots, Mr. Grinch. Hardison plans the perfect Christmas party. I can absolutely see this! I really enjoy the character voices here, and it's mostly very cozy to read about (although it's pre-sober Nate, so there was a bit of unresolved sadness in there).
Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (Spirited Away)
Becoming is about Haku; his evolution from river to dragon to boy, and a bit about his relationship with Chihiro. Has a lovely fairy tale feel to it, and I really enjoy the (post-film) ending. :)
Victor/Victoria
Counts, Curves and Cognac is a lovely, cozy bit of interaction between Victoria and Toddy, set before the end of the film. Oh, I love them so much! I hate the ending (of the movie) so much! This filled me with delight.
I'm not sure I'll keep posting recs - I'm hoping to get my full recs pages set up on dreamwidth fairly soon, so I'll just stick
yuletide stuff in there as I go. On the other hand, I definitely plan to do some
yuletart recs this time (post-reveal, though, because I'm not caught up yet). :)
