Ack, so I realize there are a lot of people I really need to get back to about various things. I'm sorry, guys: I'm buried under a pile of comic pages I'm trying to complete for a July 1st deadline, and well, I'm not sure I'm going to make it. /o\ Stupid over-complicated inking style. The only things I'm looking up for at this point are work, food, sleep, and trying to finish writing up a post about boycotting The Last Airbender on the bus. (Please boycott The Last Airbender. Some elaboration coming, hopefully ASAP.)

Hopefully I'll emerge by the weekend! I'd also like to gush a bit about Leverage, the Doctor Who finale, and how I've finally caught the genuine urge to watch all of Star Trek: The Next Generation in order. (Erm, side note: I don't suppose anyone has some good Picard/Q recs? For after I finish the comic, you understand.)

Eheheh. No Picard/Q recs (although I'll consult my sources), but I'm assuming you finally watched "Tapestry"? :) So wish I could watch TNG in order with you - watching TNG with a person is one of the chief pleasures of friendship.

What's your over-complicated inking style? (You know mine... sigh.)

Actually, I haven't watched that one yet! (I've seen clips in a few fanvids, and I know what it's about, but.) My roommate just has a handful of completely random, out-of-order episodes that we watch sometimes, but I've decided that I want to go back to the beginning and watch them all in order now, via Netflix. (I was kind of dismayed when I figured out that I'd already seen six of the Q episodes, so I'd rather wait and catch the last two in continuity.)

Aw, maybe we can watch some TNG together sometime. I certainly hope for another drawing session eventually - you're not that far away, and I'm not going any further than Vermont (if I go).

Oh, just. I ink over all my pencil lines once. I erase the pencil, and ink over all those lines again, then add all the tiny fiddly bits of shading I do (plus making corrections over and over with white gel-pen) ... it takes forever. I really enjoy that part, too, so it's hard to rush it. /o\

Oh, okay, yeah, that's similar to my process with the pen. In some ways, a brush (or dip pen with several different nibs) is nice because you can do different line widths on the first go and you don't have to do that step of inking over the second time, but ink-ink brings its own problems (oh crap, I didn't mean to--okay, I guess that's--ack blot!)

Maybe we can watch TNG WHILE drawing! (Depending on much attention you want to pay.) Let me know if you ever feel like coming to NY, and I'll let you know if I have any nonwhirlwind trips to Boston planned. (I think in lateish August?)

I do use several different pen-sizes, but the eraser lightens my original lines enough that I have to go over them anyway. (This might not be as much of a problem if I could learn to draw more lightly, but hey.) I'll certainly learn to use brushes and nibs in school (I'll have to), but for now, portability trumps most other considerations. I swear we've talked about this before. ;)

Oh, totally - that's how I watch most of my tv, really (and part of why I watch so much of it). I don't think I'm going to have time for any trips this summer, which is packed, but I have increasing numbers of friends in NY, so I'll keep it in mind. And lateish August is a busy time at my job, but if you're around these parts on a weekend, definitely look me up.

Man, do I know the feeling right now. June is almost over and I am in last minute derbycomic press (which is why I am awful and owe you an email - hopefully next week? This week I finish everything only to get dragged to a family reunion x_x).

I hope you're able to get an Airbender post up. So I can point to it and be like "what she said, also, let's all go watch Predator 3 instead" ;)

I don't think my post is going to be as comprehensive as I'd prefer, but I'll be linking to some very persuasive material, so hopefully that'll help. (Also you could always point out the flood of terrible reviews that have started popping up, even from people who aren't paying attention to the casting issue.)
