I'm all signed up for both [livejournal.com profile] yuletide and [livejournal.com profile] yuletart! So excited!

I went with the all-comics option for Yuletide (rereading the last few issues of SiP convinced me), and for Yuletart I asked for . . . even more comics, plus a couple of other things. Can't wait to see my assignments! Also, my goal is to pinch-hit at least one story for Yuletide this year. (I couldn't offer that for Yuletart, as I am a very slow artist, and could not trust myself to get it done.

And, one more time: flist, you should sign up! For one or both! The sign-up deadline for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide is Thursday, October 18 (by 11:59 pm). For [livejournal.com profile] yuletart, it's October 31. And remember, [livejournal.com profile] yuletide is massively multifandom and incorporates, slash, het and gen. It really has something for everybody. They've recently revamped the FAQ, so check it out. ^^ And yes, I will stop bugging you about it now . . .

I had to do my [livejournal.com profile] yuletide sign-up three times. *laughs* That has never happened before! I kept making mistakes . . . it was very silly. But it's all set now. I offered seventeen fandoms this year, which is the most yet, I think. :)

One of my fandoms was on the top of the "needy" list, but it's off already! Man, people in this challenge are so damn awesome.

My mother has taken my grandmother to church, so I'm sitting here waiting for the newest episode of SgA to download . . . there's been some glee on my flist, but I'm a bit nervous about it. (The Elizabeth thing? Really pisses me off, even though I like Sam Carter.) Though I've read over the episode descriptions, and there are more than a couple episodes to look forward to. ^^

I should really post about Heroes at some point . . . some squee, and some feminist griping. Not much to say about Bionic Woman yet, though I'm enjoying it enough to keep watching. I really want Sarah Corvis to stick around and keep on being slashy with Jamie, who could stand to grow a bit more personality.

Avatar, of course, is completely awesome. I'm sad that it didn't qualify for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide this year (though I can certainly see why).

Well, I have seven "new" issues of "Desert Peach" to read now. (Oh my god so much squee.)

Feminist issues in Heroes? You mean ontop of last season with entire characters who were feminist issues? I am curious. (And does it outweigh Molly having 2 daddies?) Bionic Woman... I loved the pilot and seeing episode 2 made me realize a good chunk of that love involved Sara Corvis and the deaf sister :(

Also! A reminder to forward me your yuletart questions/answers so I can fill out mine own? I want to hop in on that before I forget.

Oh yes, feminist issues, including one new entire-character feminist issue. The show is just bad at the woman thing, like the grand majority of genre media out there. *sigh* Claire continues to rock, however, so I am consoled somewhat. (And I do love Molly having 2 daddies, even though Parkman . . . sweet guy though he is . . . has never interested me much. And there are other things I love to death. Yeah, will probably post later, when I'm not busy buzzing about yulethings and "Desert Peach.")

Deaf sister? Was the sister deaf in the original pilot? I know they refilmed her scenes with a different actress . . . but yeah, Sarah's my biggest love on the show. Though that show actually has a few potentially interesting female characters, which is always great, and it hasn't managed to seriously piss me off yet. So we'll see.

D'oh! Just sent them now, though I think we may have mostly covered them over the phone, actually. If you want to discuss further, feel free to email. ^^

Oh, Maya? Yeah, well. The show has a bad track record and they got super defensive in Q&A about it at comiccon, so I don't have high expectations. (Aw, really? I heart Parkman, so it gave me extra squee).

She WAS. And it was a way more sympathetic angle to take on Jaime, then, because they have to fight in shouting and signs at the same time (which is great effect) and she has to be that extra level of protective because her sister isn't totally self sufficient. Now... she's just Buffy lite, to me. But Sarah is so awesome that I may hang in there a bit longer.

I don't have high expectations, but I'm still gonna bitch about it. ;p The day I stop, I've gone numb, and that's no good at all. (I like him, but my favorite part of his plots last season was Clea DuVall. I miss her. Mohinder, on the other hand, is my favorite character ever zomg, and he's so awesome this season. If he and Parkman interact much, some of that will probably rub off.)

Argh, that would have been so interesting! Though I still think their relationship has potential . . . I hope they do stuff with it! But even Buffy lite I will take, because I really miss watching women kick ass all the time. Whether it's an idle bit of catharsis or a real fandom, though, will depend on inclusion of Sarah/development of other characters. (I am really glad that the boyfriend died. Is that mean? It's not because of 'shippiness, either, I did not like him and thought he would grow to be my biggest peeve about the series, but huzzah! I hope he stays dead.)

Also, your Rod icon breaks my little heart all over again. ;(

Oh, Avenue Q. One of these days, Elle, when you least expect it . . . I will have something to (hopefully) make you squee. But it's gonna be awhile.
