whatever you're meant for
May. 31st, 2011 10:10 amHey bbs, hey! I had a super-productive weekend ... now that I'm back at work, I just kind of want to fall over. Particularly since I always start having more trouble sleeping when the weather heats up. (Boston is a pretty great place for summer, if you must have summer, but man. It would have been nice if we could have had a little proper spring this year.)
So this weekend was all about getting my head together for my big move at the end of the summer, because it occurred to me that since getting accepted to grad school, I hadn't really done anything about the stuff it'll still take to get me there! I spent Saturday going over my finances and undergrad student loan shit and tuition/fee information like a motherfucking adult. Turns out I'm in better shape than I thought, so that was encouraging! I can't actually get working on taking out my new loan (whee, fun) until the private educational funding program I'm going to work with gets their forms together for next year, but I am ready when they do.
Also I started poking at housing stuff. Moving! Kind of nervewracking, but kind of exciting too! (Oh man, I am really going. It's been almost SIX years since I did my internship at the school ... I can still hardly believe this is real, tbh.)
All super fascinating, I know, but I'm pretty damn excited for the future. :D I've been poking around my new classmates' websites, looking at some of their work, and I'm pretty psyched up to meet them and do projects together. COMICS. They're what I'm for, you know? Really, the biggest flaw in this weekend was that I only managed to do a little bit of art, though I did also get an online print order set up for the minicomic I've been putting together for ages.
Fannish content next post, I promise. All the art I'm working on right now is fanart, after all. I need to catch up on
trekreversebang posts! Also, do we have photographic evidence of Frank's new neck tattoo yet? I am behind on the internet, you guys.

Also yay for exciting future plans! And WORD on the wishing for a little proper spring, because seriously. Like, I love crazy hot days followed by random thunderstorms and all that, but normally they happen in AUGUST.

Date: 2011-06-01 01:35 pm (UTC)There's certainly no guarantee that it'll ever pay in any regular or life-sustaining way. But I'm hoping to find a way to make it more central to my life in the long term even if it doesn't. We'll see! People do this a lot of different ways. :) I at least get a chance to make it my main focus for these next two years, and that seems worth it in itself. So thanks again! God, excited/nervous.
