so I say, and on I go
Nov. 20th, 2007 02:31 pmFirst snow of the year! Sure, it's pretty much raining now, but still . . . it was so pretty this morning. I'm almost glad that I got up early and went out hunting seasonal employment (ugh, but the temp work has dried up for the timebeing, so); otherwise, I'd have missed the best of it. I hope this is a good sign for the rest of the season. It has to be better than last year.
So I finally caved and started watching Battlestar Galactica . . . found the first season on sale at my used music store (it was already cheap even without the sale), so really, how could I resist? I've been going through it way too fast. It's a real breath of fresh air, in spite of being so dark and frequently upsetting. Good writing, interesting concepts (I'd avoided spoilers well enough not to know about the Cylon religion angle, that is totally my kind of plot element), and really great female characters (though they don't interact quite often enough for my tastes).
So far, I don't have any pairing interests whatsoever, and the show's good enough that I don't think I'll need fic (though I'll probably look around and see what there is anyway).
I'm struggling a bit with my
yuletide fic . . . not so much with the request itself as with an important plot framing device. May need to prod someone (
sae, I'm looking at you) for brainstorming assistance.
Have I mentioned yet that I have a lovely
yuletart assignment? The deadline's quite a ways off, and I don't expect to have a great deal of difficulty with it, so I haven't really started planning much yet, but it's going to be really fun to do. I have a fun notion for my
go_exchange assignment as well, though I haven't put pencil to paper yet . . . I've been working on one piece of very cracked-out Eroica fanart. *guilty* Just one! Then "work!"
I'm a bit mad at myself for not getting a Wonder Woman costume design together for today, but that's life.
