Anytime you want to stop coughing yourself awake, body, that would be just fine with me. So tired. (Of course, staying up a bit late arguing with my roomie about authorial intent may not have helped with that. I fucking love those discussions, though. There was also a lot of random quoting of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, though that was unrelated.)

So last week I told [livejournal.com profile] sweetvalleyslut that I was very belatedly falling in love with Frank Iero, and Frank/Gerard. (That's the magic of being a latecomer. I missed the stagegay--I mean, I sort of didn't, but when that was happening I was not at all invested in the people involved.) She cheered for the first one, but roundly scolded me for the second; by the time I got into bandom, she was complaining about overwhelmingly prevalent OTPs and the rareness of pairings that shouldn't be rare. I laughed at her, but I do ship everyone in MCR/everyone in MCR--plus Brian and the wives--so it's not as though I don't get the frustration . . . some days more than others. Because I love Frank/Gerard, but this week all I want is so much Ray/Frank fic (preferably with power play of some kind). Where is all of that? Tsk.

I got into an argument with somebody about Penny's character in Dr. Horrible, with regard to overused annoying stock female characterizations and Women in Refrigerators. (Joss' response to the first question here does not actually dispose me to ignore the issue.) I really do need to watch it again.

Things and things. Hmm. Discussion of Fan History keeps showing up on my flist, and I thought I'd share, because there's some interesting and potentially revealing stuff. This post contains information that I was certainly unaware of, about some of the proprietor's motives. Also, [livejournal.com profile] astolat weighs in about FH and outing. The short of it is that various people suggest not visiting the site, because whatsherface is apparently in it for profit (and going so far as to foment wank in order to achieve it).

Oh, fandom. I should probably get to work. (If I can tear my eyes away from this gif, that is. Panic will get me yet. /o\ ♥)

Everytime someone mentions Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, I get this song by They Might Be Giants stuck in my head. "Mr. Horrible, Mr. Horrible, telephone call for Mr. Horrible . . ."

As for Dr. Horrible, it was generally marvelous, but spoilers )

Last night's Avatar, on the other hand . . . oh, the ♥meta.♥ Every time I think it's impossible for me to love that show any more than I already do, it proves me wrong. Everything from mocking their own storytelling, to out-and-out mocking the 'shippers (I do always love it when the canon mocks the 'shippers, I confess). Just beautiful.

It is far too hot; time to abscond to a friendly local cafe with my sketchbooks. (You know, I've drawn porn in public before. It should not be paranoia-inducing to contemplate having my bandom reference sheets with me there.) Not taking my laptop; I think I need some time away from the internet.
