I'm thinking about going to see the Hushies again in Hartford. I could get there by bus easily enough, and the show itself is quite cheap, but I don't know what I'd do after. Peter Pan buses don't run terribly late, and I think a hotel room would be a bit more expense than I really want to incur. :/ This fandom is not cheap.

Anyway! I've decided to create two filters. One will involve real life things (probably just occasional stuff that I'd prefer to lock, because it's too detailed) and original art (plus possibly random blather about whatever I'm working on? IDK). The other will be for random comics blather and comic recs. I doubt that either will be terribly high-volume, honestly (a lot of the time, any spare energy I might have had for writing posts just gets channeled into art instead), but there should be some art and recs at the very least.

Oh, and people who also watch my RL journal: I love you guys, but I'm not sure why some of you were participating in that last poll. Anything under these filters is probably going to be crossposted anyway; if you sign up for a filter, you'll get it twice. If you want access to the comments (which I guess you might for the comics filter, in case of discussion), go for it, but otherwise you might want to keep out of this.

[Poll #1231096]

Um. You guys are sweet, by the way. :) And if you aren't interested in these filters, particularly the first one, I am really not going to be offended. JSYK.

peterpanbus.com says last bus from Hartford to Boston South Station leaves at 9:15pm

I am not going to look up hotels for you, though :P unless you ask

$204 for a ticket (http://www.wegoplaces.com/Event_146626.aspx)?!

That is indeed what I meant by "not terribly late." :p Early enough, in fact, that the Hushies might not quite have gone on yet. And if I decide it's worth going for an overnight, I swear, I will do my own research.

Okay, I have no idea WTF is up with that link. I can't get this to link directly, but go here (http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?organ_val=2301). Click on their August schedule, and the "buy tickets" link for the Hush Sound show. The tickets are $12 apiece; with service charge they're still under $20.

While the Peter Pan site was loading, I was Googling Hush Sound + Hartford to get the date since I know some of the buses don't run every day, and that was one of the top items on the list. I am comforted to know that tickets to your beloveds are not in fact obscenely expensive.

And yeah, that is really sadly early when trying to go to a show. You know I love researching -- but yeah, I do realize my friends are adults and can do their own research :)

That would be deeply bizarre. I mean, when I went to see MCR at Madison Square Garden--and they're a big band, probably the most popular/expensive act I'd currently consider seeing (aside from Bowie)--the highly-coveted GA pit tickets were going for quite a bit less than that. I wonder if that site is trying to advertise some kind of vacation package that includes the concert? WTF.

*laughs* I know you do, hon. I also promise to come to you if I find myself stymied by random internet research at any point. :)

I certainly wouldn't expect that! I'm kind of a notorious skimmer, and I really only comment if I feel like I actually have something to say (or you know, have a random whim).

I'm going to that show, and I don't know my plans for sure yet, but there's an excellent chance I'll be driving back to Boston afterwards and have extra room in my car...

Oh, geez. ♥ I should probably warn you that I don't have my license, so I can't offer to take over part of the driving. However, if your plans work out that way and you don't mind me tagging along, I would certainly be willing to chip in for gas money (a larger portion, maybe, to make up for the other thing)!

I wouldn't mind at all. :) There's a slim chance that I might want to go out to Western MA that Friday night, in which case I will probably catch a ride to Hartford with [livejournal.com profile] fuschia, and then come back with you. Either way, though, thank you so much! ♥

You better put me on all your filters ever, is all I'm saying. <33333

Meanwhile, I am trying to talk my parents into loaning me the car, even though I can't drive it, while they are out of town, so that [livejournal.com profile] fairestcat and I can get to Chicago for Warped and back again without having to fight the bus system. IDEK. The things I do for this fandom, seriously.

*laughs* Yes ma'am. ♥

Well, if I could drive, I'd totally be looking into the range of local zipcar operations. (Not just for fandom, though, honest! Home is about the same distance as Hartford, so it'd be good to know!) As it is, I'm looking at this concert and the upcoming Cobra, Panic, and the Cab tours, and just . . . /o\ IDEK. At some point I'm going to hit a limit, but it's so much fun!

Yeah, so, I have this problem? Where I keep looking at the September tour dates and then going, OH WAIT, and flipping out a little, because I can't buy tickets to anything in London/elsewhere in the UK until I have some idea what my actually school schedule will be, but...damn.

My life, so hard.

HEY SO. If in the next, say, two weeks, I figure out what's going on and also get over my fear of driving in Connecticut (YOU SUCK, CONNECTICUT ROADS!) maybe I could be in Boston for a few days beforehand and do the drive over (unless you work out the bus TO the concert and I would drive from home) and if [livejournal.com profile] janet_carter doesn't have room in the car you could still come home with me and take a bus back in the morning. IDK what's going on really. HYPOTHETICALS SUCK. I don't actually know if I can get a ticket yet. /o\ But I want to see them again so badly omg.

PS I think I forgot to do your last poll because I was distracted by STORMS and apparently randomly closed seventy million tabs? But I love all you-related things. So.

PPS Sugar rush. Sorry. :(

Well, let me know what you're doing. :D I don't want to make you drive all the way out to Boston just to pick me up, but if we both go I might totally take you up on your offer to drive me back to the Valley after the concert.

It's okay, bb, I just wanted to see if anyone was interested; actually didn't mean to leave it open that long. This is the poll that matters. :)

That's also a thought. A very good one. Thank you for the offer, sweetheart, I may take you up on it. ♥

If I can get a ride from someone out here, then I won't have to pay bus fares, which would be nice. I'm going to try and balance that with what's the least imposition on other people; I'm not sure yet what that works out to?

One way or another, though, I guess I can definitely go, and should buy my ticket already. :D

Heh, that's me too. *grin* And, comic recs you shall have. I know nothing about what is or isn't available on the internet, being ridiculously old-fashioned in my habits (I almost live in a comic shop, sometimes, and then there's the library), but a lot of my taste is relatively predictable, so I'm sure it's out there. :)
